We hope that this finds you all safe and well.

During this time of lockdown, with events such as ours having had to be cancelled, we wanted to stay in touch and update you regarding the remaining talks this season. Even with speculations regarding relaxation of the current restrictions on movements and gatherings it is very likely that social distancing will continue for some time. We have therefore taken the decision to not hold our talks in June and July. We will proceed with the usual break in August and will look start our programme again in September (recognising that this too may be subject to change, dependent upon Government guidance at that time).

A few of you have asked about hosting online seminars. We have taken the decision not to go down that route for a number of reasons, not least because we feel the social element and interactions with our speakers are such an important part of Cafe Scientifique. We will however look to add links to interesting articles and recorded lectures on our website. There are also a number of science news feeds to browse. Furthermore, if you have come across interesting scientific stories, breakthroughs or lectures online, please let us know and we will post your suggestions for other to enjoy. Also don’t forget our Facebook page and Twitter, where we will also start posting these suggestions.

To keep up to date with updates, please keep an eye on our COVID-19 page.

In the meantime, take good care of yourselves and we very much look forward to seeing you all again soon.

With kindest regards,

The Salisbury Cafe Scientifique team.
