Artificial Intelligence (AI) has come a long way and can now be found all around us. This talk will look at where the current crop of AI systems came from, how they got to be where they are now and some of their applications in 2023 before taking a brief look at some future directions.
Dr Paul Cripps works as a computer scientist specialising in Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KRR, or ‘good old fashioned AI’). His PhD focussed on the semantics of space and time building on his experience as a professional archaeologist. You may also know him as the Salisbury Cafe Sci web monkey.
