In this masterclass, Dr. Clara Novo will:
• discuss the presence of unusually permissive and hyper-transcribed chromatin in pluripotent
embryonic stem cells
• present evidence for an additional role for the open chromatin organisation
• discuss how epigenetic regulation of satellite regions contribute to the genome integrity whilst
providing a platform for cellular fate commitment

Our second speaker, Dr. Rodrigo Grandy will:
• address the mechanisms that interlink cell cycle progression and cell cycle machinery to cell
differentiation
• present evidence that shed light onto whether the cell cycle plays any role during differentiation
• present novel mechanisms of action for key elements of the cell cycle machinery during cellular
differentiation.
