Poo is everywhere – it’s all around us and inside us too – but we rarely talk about it. Many cultures have a strong taboo around poo and the result is that most people know very little about it beyond their direct personal experience. When a group of artists from the Isle of Wight created an exhibition of animal faeces, they had no idea of the avalanche of public interest that would ensue or that they were lifting the lid on an extraordinary subject which affects our lives in countless, often hidden ways.

They will present some of the curious facts and research that they’ve uncovered on their journey into the world of poo and demonstrate a selection of the odd techniques they devised to create The National Poo Museum exhibition.

Nigel George dropped out of the education system early and has worked extensively in zoology for nearly thirty years. He is also a public artist and social entrepreneur.

Daniel Roberts studied French, Philosophy and Sociology and always had a keen interest in the inventions of Heath Robinson. He travelled in Spain and Portugal on a huge tricycle that he had built from discarded wind turbine parts before creating The National Poo Museum with Nigel George and other members of the Eccleston George creative collective.
